Help! Locked out of my Engine bay

Hey Fellas,

"Im sending out an SOS"

I popped my hood yesterday to do some routine
maitenence to the car, when all the sudden the
whole dam hood release cable came out of it's
sleeve.

The cable is completely broken from the locking
tooth that holds the hood down.. I have no clue
how to get to my engine!!

Before I go destroying my freshly built car, Maybe
one of you gentlemen have been through this ordeal
before (or body shop guys!)

I seriously need help, I have to at least get
to the engine..I have one day off this week &
and I need to know exactly what Im doing.

I thought I could get something long and try
to shove the tooth over, but.. Im not sure
how the latch works.

Please any input.. would be fantastic!

Picture is blurry but if you can push the latch to the drivers side of your car it should open.Attachment 139550

Re: Help! Locked out of my Engine bay

Fabulous!

Thanks, Its already done, I got the hood open.

I crawled underneath the nose.. and unbolted
the plastic shroud that is in front of the trans
cooler and the latch was clearly reachable.

I snuck my arm up in there and pulled it down.

Now, I have plenty of time to replace it with a
new cable... and itll be ALOT easier to install now
that I have the hood open!

Thanks for the picture, Helped a ton!

Re: Help! Locked out of my Engine bay

This just happened to me last night. My latch was jammed so I had to crawl under the nose of the car and unbolt the latch bar from the hood.

Least you guys don't have to spend 5 minutes locking and tieing up a bungie cord to keep the hood down every time you open your hood or when it randomly half opens on the road
