A- Pillar t-top seal

Hey all:

I have 89 with t-tops, and I am at least the fourth owner (I inherited the car from my younger brother). I believe these are after market seals on the vehicle because they look pretty moist and soft.

The only questionable area where there is a drip is at the top of the A-pillar, about an inch or two before the seal splits to meet the t-top glass seal. It also is where the driver window angles perpendicular to the tops.

The problem appears to be the seal has gone concave. it actually indented and there is a slight gap where the glass touches it, and if the angle of the vehicle parked, with torrential down pour, it drips.

Has anyone ever utilized black waterproof silicone to blend in gaps or indents in weather seal. There really isn't any other solution, except to maybe slice the underside of the seal, and put some expanding foam in to pop out the concave, and then seal that cut back closed.

IDEAS? SUGGESTIONS please.

Re: A- Pillar t-top seal

not sure but my t tops leak some too... at one time it was a mini water park lol but i used silicone calking to fill in some gaps and so far it stopped the majority of the drips but i still have a few to deal with but the foam idea might just work. good luck man
