triangle door glass seals, difference in them from early to late ?

triangle door glass seals, difference in them from early to late ?

it seems there may be a difference in the triangle door glass seals from early ones to later years ones

from what i have seen in some posts anyways


is this true or not ?

if so then what years ? and whats different about them ??

looking to learn something new here if possible

and i ask becausei have a clean pair of these off an 88 camaro i need to use for my 82 t/a

there is a difference in design (the way it mounts to the door) the early ones i beleive are 82-84, then 85-92 are the other, so the ones you have will most likely not work in your 82

I dont think there is any difference.I have noticed that there is a 1 piece version where the corner triangle is all integrated with the seal.Ive replaced the window seals on my 82 camaro and the replacements which came from an 89 f body just slid right on.

yeah thats the difference the newer ones have the long channel for the windows, i tried using the older style and it would not work, dont remember why

My 92 parts car had the one piece setup which was a lot nicer in the way it sealed compared to the old 2 piece one on the 88. Made a difference in water getting in and wind noise. I didn't have any problems installing them that I can remember.

yes they are different. what does it matter if it works for you and cost effective. if you were restoring a show car you would know to go with the older one right.

use what works.
