Re: WHAT A CRASH

thanks guys, and yea i noticed the spray on the lights and tail pipes but a little varsol will take that out plus i dont wanna have to deal with these people ever again if i took that car back it would likely take another week for em to give it back also, i took the car on thursday they said it would of been ready friday but i didnt want to wait and risk not getting it back for another week so i just took it as is, but theres one main problem i noticed, the hood is to low when the wipers are on they rub against the hood scratching it so i ll definitely be goin back for that...ohh and yes there is a shade of blue in the white, but i also specifically asked for it tho.

i wouldnt go as far as to think that, our insurance up here in ontario is one of the worst in north america for ripping you off.

Still no idea how his car wasnt totalled by the insurance, he must have convinced them that it would cost them less to fix it, then what they were going to have to give him to replace it.

theyre definitly not out to do anyone a favour

EDIT: hah hope you dont mind pearl, but im looking at buying the same wheels, and my cars getting painted the same colour lol

still be a little different with the iroc hood, black headlight pockets and the iroc gfx, but man will they ever be similar

Re: WHAT A CRASH

anybody can be a mechanic, but body work is very hard to learn! that's why in most restos, the main cost is the body work and paint. and because of this fact, it's so hard to find body guys that are cool and good to work with. they get arrogant 'cause they know they have your car and you're not going anywhere! i've been there! i'm so glad it worked out for you and you have your nice looking ride back with minimal stress...i hardly ever cruise at night, just 'cause i want to avoid the drunks! i don't know about canada, but down here all the crazies come out at night and bad stuff always happens! thanks for your diaries.....we all lived this event with you and as TGO members, i think we all relate!

Re: WHAT A CRASH

no kidding wdigitog, night time is when they lurk, but yea i do appreciate everyones support here on tgo, looking back at it now it was worth the struggle to get this car back, and yea my main argument was if they totalled my car it would cost them at least 10 000 to 15 000 to get one like mine back, then i showed them autotrader lol

doug, lol i cant wait to see wut ur car will look like man, im sure its gonna look sweet, be sure to post some pics of that when it done , by the way where are u gettin ur ROHs from i had to search high and low to get mine

Man I read your story a while back... Saw the pics and was like... Oh man how do you remain so calm? I have a lot of respect for you... I'm sure that car was your baby aside from maybe a g.f? To see it take such a beating, props to ya man... I hope you get it back to the way it was before the day it was wrecked... Good luck man

Re: WHAT A CRASH

thanks dude, the only reason i didnt lose my temper was the fact that i didnt want the people that had my car in their possesion to do anything to screw it up even worse out of spite, as for the guy that hit me, hes in a whole new world of hurt with the charges hes facing, far worse than if i was to have knocked him out lol heres a updated pic with my new shoes

I really dont mean to be an A$$ but here we go.........have you ever considered that it does take time to get the prep work done right? all body work is trail and error.....if you get it right the first time your lucky.......2 months is about right for that job.....if only one guy is working on it

l still like the ROH too but these fit this car better IMO its looks way better in person than in the pics, plus it fills the wheel wells better and i wanted to go with wider tires, couldnt really do that on the ROH, but me and my dad are keepin are eyes open for another camaro or GTA that might be sportin those wheels next summer lol

1991TAGTA- the color from what i was told is sherwin williams pearl white, with blue pearl instead of the white pearl. not sure on the code. i spoke to the painter when i was pcikin up the car he told me he mixed it himself, so im not sure exactly

My Monte is a pearl white and the paint job is about 16 years old! The shop that did the work used a corvette white with a blue pearl powder mixed in.
