Rear Bumper Clips

Hey, I am trying to remove the rear bumper from a 89 Camaro and got all the 6 screws out and the ones on the license plate. Now I came to the black push in clips. Can't figure those things out, even looked in a repair manual and it simply said "remove clips". I tried to pry them out, but didn't want to brake anything and stopped. Do I have to cut them out or something? Thanks

No, don't cut them out, they just pull up easily with a flathead screwdriver. If that does work its even easier to use 2, 1 on each side and pry it up. They'll pop out. I did a rear bumper today, took 10 mins!

Wow, I must be doing something wrong. I tried prying it with a screwdriver and pulled pretty darn hard and it didn't move. I'll try it again and let you know, thanks

I always shoot them with some WD-40 first.

Re: Rear Bumper Clips

maybe its because your trying to get the whole thing out at once, what you do is u pry up the MIDDLE circle, that pops up, then you can pull out the entire tab. Hopefully that will help you.

Yeah, thats what I was doing. Figured it out though and got it off pretty fast. Thanks for the help

just as a safety tip, wear glasses when your taking the bottom clips out (if your car is rusty). Should have thought of that one
