1983 T/A, base/clear or single stage?

I have an 83 T/A Norwood car that needs to be repainted. I’m looking to replicate the factory paint and want to know if it’s base/clear or single stage. The body shop I went to said base/clear but I don’t think that’s right. Didn’t base/clear start in the mid 80’s?

Do they still sell Enamel paint? I’d really like to stick with the original paint process but if I need to go base/clear I’m not totally against it.

Your car is enamel. They started base/clear at norwood in 86. If I were you I would go to base/clear. They will charge you just as much if you stay enamel. Enamel can be made in almost any color that is available today.
