Rust removal.
Well i know the process of rust removal there are a ton of different approaches. Between chemical, good ol sanding, blasting.... There is a lot of different options. I was wondering what all ways everyone is going about it?
I'm using "Klean-Strip rust converter". Its a liguid that you dab/paint on. then it drys into "A hard,sand-able, paint-able primer". I have yet to sand it and find out how it works out. But so far so good. So far i have small rust spots on both fenders covered.
So what is everyone else doing to get rid of there rust

I always sand. Ive used chemicals a few times (rust converter), but I'd rather be safe and just sand.

Yeah, honestly, no matter how good chemical converters "say" they are, they never do exactly what they say they do. Blasting is personally my favorite. Use coarse material and it makes an awesome surface for things like primer or POR-15 to stick right to. The only problem with blasting is that the media gets EVERYWHERE. A 2 minute blasting job inside the car turns into a 2 hour cleaning job after that, just trying to get the sand that you can see. Then you need to take a shower and wash all of it out lol. Works great for exterior surfaces though, no real cleanup issues. Just don't get it inside lol.
