Would You Replace this Door?
Currently tearing my car down to prep for painting it....found this inside the driver's door in the window track:

There's also some small bubbles along the bottom edge of the door - otherwise, it seems solid.
Do you think I should take the time to swap out this door?
Joe

Yes, id replace it. Just not worth it to use it and paint it up all nice for a rusted out inside.
Looks like some of the bolt holes for the outter window sweeps wont work anymore.

Re: Would You Replace this Door?
I think I will do that. Questions concerning compatibility. My car is an 84. I have power windows and power locks (no power mirrors). Are all 82-92 door components the same as my 84? I don't want to mess with any rewiring. Will the 84 wiring harness connect to, say, an 89 power window and power door lock? I know there were a couple years where the Firebird had a slightly modified door panel, with the door pull smaller and whatnot. Please advise. Thanks.

Rust-free door for 25$??? ****, wish I lived where you are. Hm, strange, my doors don't have any rust at all in the same area as you, yet the bottoms are all rusted out, trying to figure how to fix that before is reaches the outer panels. But yeah, I'd replace those, looks impossible to fix and will reach your outer panel in no time. You went this far to tear off your inside panels, it's not so difficult to remove your door. Just disconnect your power locks/windows, slide them out of the door, then all you have left to do is to remove 6 bolts per door. You'll have to remove two panels from under your dashboard to get to a couple bolts though. Takes 15 min.

Any 82-92 door will fit. Some of the internals were different on the 82-83 doors compared to the 84-92's, but that means nothing if you swap the entire door. All the power option connections will be the same.
I can trip over $25 3rd gen doors that are rust free

P.S. correction - Power Mirror connections changed somewhere around 1986 or so. I know you don't have P/Mirrors but I wanted to correct my previous statement !!!
