front bumper problems

The Story: so when i first go the car, i was driving around one winter night there were patches of ice on the road but seeing as how i was highschool student, i realized that i am such a great driver i need not worry about the ice....anyway, i spun slightly out of control, and hit a telephone pole head first....now the bumper wasnt too messed up cuz i didnt hit it at that fast of a speed, but it was still enough to mess up the bumper pretty bad (i.e. splitting it on the bottom) and tearing the honeycomb shock absorber in half under the skin, after it settled for quite some time, two spots on either side of the center got bowed in...
The Problem: so to fix this problem this year i got a new front bumper cover, i put it on before i painted and i noticed that the two bowed in spots on the bumper came back after some time...so i got a new honeycomb shock absorber and put that on today, stretched out the bumper the best i could and theyre still there....what should i do? i cant seem to get rid of them...is this some sort of defect in the bumper? or is there a way to fix it?

thanks a bunch
-brian

Re: front bumper problems

sounds like it bent your bumper and the stress from being bolted up is making it pull on the plastic cover

Re: front bumper problems

I would think that one of the supports that you bolt the cover to isbent from the imapct adn is screwing with it

Re: front bumper problems

well the sagging seems to get worse and worse....heres a picture from about july (those pictrues were last weekend) when i just put on the bumper and there was still a problem, just not as bad....

you can kinda see the problem is there, but not quite as bad...i'm thinking maybe shim up the left side bracket there, and then me and my dad are thinking of making some sort of bracket for behind the bumper in the front to take out the indents in the bumper
