i have a 82 trans am aluminum rebar. im hoping to put it on my 91 trans am to replace the steel rebar. has anyone done this? looks like i will have to do some mods to get my fog and parking lights to mount. any help would be great.

 

From what I understand, the Camaro or aluminum ones (not sure) are about 2" wider on each end. Trim to fit, and your good to go.

I have one of each (84 Camaro aluminum, 89 GTA steel) but haven't gotten them side by side to compare them. I'm hoping it is the case. If so so, I'll just stack them, cut the steel one to mark the aluminum one, trim to fit, and put the aluminum one on my 87 GTA.

Don't wait for me no. It might not happen for months.

If you find out otherwise, post the results!

 

i could see it being easy to do the 87 gta as the fogs are lower. the 91 has fogs and parking lights that mount right inside the rebar, i think. for sure it will have to be cut and modded. just hoping its not too hard. anyone? its a 82 trans am rebar and not the camaro rebar.

 

I can see the the plastic impact piece needed to be trimmed, but that's about it. But as far as they sit forward, with the long nose, I only see a little trimming needed, because of the mounts/brackets.

The metal portion should be a straight swap.
