rim polishing

how will i know to move up a grit when sanding my rims down this winter? Also do i need to take the tires off, i'm guessing no, but if i do how much will a shop charge. thx

I don't really know how to explain how you'll know when to go up in grit, you'll just notice it. I basically used a higher grit to get the lower grit scratches out. But, I also sanded all the machine grooves out of my wheels too.


You don't have to take the tires off, but it sure does make it alot easier. Shops charge different prices in different areas. Your best bet is a small mom and pop place, they're usually cheaper.
