I want to shave the antenna but I need ideas about what to do other than the actuall body work of shaving it

basically I want something else for an antenna

buy the hidden antennas.. hide in in the dash.

 

go for a new look with something like the bmw shark fin, i believe they started selling something similar on ebay, and it it back on the roof right bey the hatch, if done right it won't leak. Don't get something big and gaudy, just get something that is small, conceieled, paint it body color and install. IDK if that was something you were looking for, but just another idea.

Then again i would go with the one that lines the pillar of your windshield, conceiled and functional...take a look at ebay, there is a lot of different types, you might get an idea

 

what if I just attached the antenna to the body of the car and made the car an antenna

i don't know how that would work, and i would assume you would get a lot of interference like if you ever listened to an AM station with the windshield wipers on. I don't know.

 

How much radio do you listen to? Or do always listen to your CDs? I do.

I took my antenna off, pulled the dash pad off, laid the antenna down under there, and stuck the dash pad back on.

Is it GREAT? No. It picks up radio still, but not the best. I never listen to AM/FM anyways. I could have ZERO antenna, and be perfectly happy!

I want a stereo, that is simply a MP3 hard drive. NO tuning, NO CD player......JUST a hard drive player.

 

My original antenae is under the dash pad, it still picks up most stations.
