i need some tips/pointers
my 85 Sport Coupe has a nasty riveted hood scoop and the side GFX have been riveted in some places. what would be the best way to fill in the rivet holes? i was thinking bondo but then again i thought that since there would be nothing behind it, it would just come out after time went by. i dont have any pics of the rivets in the side GFX but i do have a shot of the hood scoop. the hood does have a dent in it, which i dont have a shot of. i figure i can pop that out some how.
here is most of the stupid hood scoop

also what would be the best way to remove whatever this gunk is? i think someone tried to use some cocking of some sort at one point in time.

i bet some of you are wondering why i would want to get rid of the side GFX, its because i dont ever plan on replacing the front or rear bumper cover. if i did i would turn it into a z28 of around the same year as the car. plus i dig the look of the sport coupe.

Looks like you have a nice little porject to work on.
Best way to fill those holes is with using a welder.

is the hood cut out under the scoop? or was it just put there for looks?
If it was just put there for looks, spot weld the rivet holes.
As for the mirror, you'll need to remove the mirror and scrape/sand that material away and see whet the metal looks like underneath. You might need a new mounting gasket for the mirror, JY part is easy to get for that.
With the GFX, you'll have to get those off and see what the body looks like underneath, never know what they could be hiding.

Re: i need some tips/pointers
the body isnt in too bad shape besides what i pointed out and a few rust spots in the pass. rear wheel well.
the scoop was just riveted and maybe glued on. the mounting gasket is in good shape because i just replaced the mirror. the last owner snipped the wires that control the mirror and the mirror wouldnt stay in one spot.
thanks for all the tips, looks like i'll be renting/buying a welder soon.

If you don't have a welder now, you could cold weld (jb weld and the like) a piece of sheet metal behind the hole, let it dry, rough it up, then bondo that little area. It worked on Powerblock
