Iroc Hood Louver Nuts

Hey guys, I did a lot of forum searching but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.

I recently brought my car to the body shop and they did a great job, even painted my louvers jet black for me! But they lost the nuts that go under the louvers to fasten them to the hood. So i brought one of the louvers to the local shops and even the hardware store, but i found no such luck. The dealership was the last place I went and it cost way too much to order.

So, does anyone know a good place or possibly the exact size of the nuts I could buy to fasten those louvers on? And should I use a nylon thread nut or metal because the studs are plastic?

thanks guys!

Re: Iroc Hood Louver Nuts

If i'm not mistaken, those nuts are normally referred to as "speed nuts"

i do not remember the size of the stud that is on the louvers, but just take a measurement.

a google search will yield several suppliers, and i guess most body shops should have some laying about, or have a supplier that can get you some of the things.

a supplier i have ordered from earlier is http://www.thefastenerwarehouse.com

you have similar nuts on this page http://www.thefastenerwarehouse.com/...age/568857.htm

these nuts are not painted black tho, but a can of paint will fix that, if it's important to you.

The originals are metal.

The originals are metal as was stated and they are 7/16 speed nuts. The center hole stud size is anyones guess.
