Questions after first time spraying...

Ok, so i didnt spray the car yet, but i am building up to it... I am in the process of relpacing the floor and just got finished spraying the new floor pans with POR15. Figured i could get some experience doing this and the engine bay before doing the rest of the car..

Anyway, overall i think it came out pretty good but there were a few little spots where the paint just seems to of been rejected.. I think i have seen this before when i have brushed on POR15 so i am not convinced it is due to my spraying but thought i would post a couple of pics to see what you guys think, plus i am quite proud of my handywork, this being my first time and all!

Just got back in from spraying another coat, I seem to of managed to get a bit better coverage on those areas that seemed to reject the paint but it's still not perfect, just had to keep spraying those spots over and over...

contamination. oil, h2o, or grease or something. try either cleaning the area with some prepall or a little thinner/reducer and reshoot, alot of times you can get away with misting light coats over the area to "bridge" the paint over it and then a nice flowing coat over the top to conceal your dryspray you'll have on the surrounding areas

Re: Questions after first time spraying...

Thats what i was thinking BUT... i cleaned the first side with pre painting prep and i cleaned the other side with Marine clean just like it says to.. Guess i just didnt do as good of a job as i thought i had...

Next question is, how forgiving is POR15 when spraying it? I got good results here spraying these pans, but i get the feeling that the self levelling qualities of POR15 have somewhat flattered my spraying skill

How different is spraying POR15 to spraying regular automotive paint???
