how do i replace the quarter panels? do i cut it from the pillar that connects to the roof? also.. are the quarter panels and roof one piece? can i just remove them in one and put a replacement in as one? thanks

I have never done it, so don't quote me on this, but I believe the first thing you want to do is figure out what size the replacement piece will be. Then cut the quarter panel accordingly.

If you know you need new quarters buy the new panels first! Measure them out several times then make your cuts. New quarters aren't something a newbie can do very easily, it's alot of work to make it right. BTW, don't hack them up and then take it to a bodyshop to fix your mistakes that will cost way more than if you let them do it from the start.

if you don't have much body experience there is no way you'll be happy with the results, and I completely agree with what he said about hacking it up, I just had to re-weld 2 quarters on a 67 Camaro after the owner welded them on completely wrong so the gaps on the whole car were thrown off.and when replacing quarters, the saying "measure twice cut once" is your friend, be patient and don't rush.
