Door Locks, and Window Motor Trouble

So on the drivers side, when I hit the power lock button, it show the locking mechinism happening, yet it doesnt lock, yet on the passenger side it locks inside and from the outside. so Why might that Be that it doesnt lock?

I know nothing about cars, let alone doors on cars lol. Now the power switch works on the drivers side, but not the passengers side, kind of like it has no power to it? Can the little brain be bad, or the wiring maybe to the power lock switch?

And I am curious to how hard the window motors are to replace? Mine are completely dead. Now I can get the little thing off where the power locks and door handle is, although the actual door panel I tried to take off an older camaro I had, and it basically broke it, is there a certain way to take the off to get to the metal, and the motor?

And if this made no sense I am sorry, ask me to explain better, I have my daughter on my lap and she isn't making this easy. lol Thanks everyone!

My guess on the power lock not working on one side is that either the actuator is dying or your latch needs some greasing. My power locks didn't work after I installed them. They would move the lock rod a little bit, but not far enough to actually lock the door. I sprayed some white lithium grease on the latch from the inside of the door. They worked great after that.

To take off the door panels, you have to take off the arm rest and the switch/door handle panel, then use something to pry the panel away from the door. It is just held on by plastic push in things (don't know what they are really called lol).

Window motors are a pain to replace. You have to take the entire motor and regulator assembly out of the door which involves drilling out 4 rivets and trying to slide the massive things out the tiny hole in the door. Then you have to drill out the rivets holding the motor to the regulator and bolt the new motor on. Then the really fun part is reinstalling the regulator...fun fun

Sounds like the passenger door switch has come disconnected or needs to be replaced. Easy fix. Take the current one off and unplug the switch and replace. There is no brain for the switches, just wiring. Also the rod may be bent and not going all of the way back which is why it may not lock but looks like it is. Try holding your finger on the button a little longer. Or it could use some lubricant. Also once the door panel is off check the long rod that is the manual inside lock.

Not sure how you "broke" a door panel. It actually just pulls foward once the handle, top plastic trim and the lock mechanism is removed.

Window motors. Personally I think they are the hardest thing on the car to change (easier to replace the car motor) but once you do it then it becomes somewhat easier. There are plenty of topics written on changing the motors, just do a search.

So, the reason it might be working is the little brain thing in the swith/handle thing in the door panel? So if I ordered a new switch that might help?

If you get any response from the power lock, it is not the switch. I think you said the driver side switch gets a response but doesn't lock the doors. If that is so, I said what I believe is the problem in my previous post. For the passenger side, if the switch gets no reaction from the actuators, I would say it is bad or unplugged.
