#1 I want a fiberglass lift off hood and was wondering what was the best way to attach the hood down. Was thinking of 4 Moroso aluminum hood pins.

#2 A buddy gave me a bolt on fiberglass hood but it weighs as much or more than the stock hood. Is the lift off hood going to light enough to justify the change.

 

Fiberglass hood weighs as much or more than stock? What kind of hood is it? I picked up a bolt-on 3" Cowl Hardwood that is definitely less than stock. I can easily lift/move the fiberglass. I need a clear open path with the stock steel and can't lift it much more than 2-3 inches off the ground.

If it was given to you, it might be a factory fiberglass that some of the Camaros came with I think. That might be the reason it's not a whole lot lighter.

I believe you'd just go with 4 hood pins with a lift-off.

 

Thanks for the help. The hood I was given is a cowl hood at the back (not open) and has one opening in the front, like a jet fighter. It is still bolted to the car and is hard to lift making me think the hood is heavy. I'm sure the hood shocks are bad.
