fiberglass cowl hood bolt on
I bought a hood off of a member. the hood was made to use hoodpins. I don't like them so i want to use the latch. the hood is a bolt on hood and does have the spots for the bolts.
my question is what do you do to bolt the parts on. the fiberglass seems too weak to hold the latch hold down. do you have to cut anything to get behind the bolts?
If anyone has any pics of their latch on a fiberglass hood i would appreciate it.
I have alot finished on the hood and now i just want to get it bolted on. thanks for any help.

if the hood was in fact made as a bolt on hood, it should have threaded steel inserts for the bolts, in the hing location and for the latch. If they are not there, its not a bolt on hood and you have to use pins. Unless you want to start cutting the hood open and trying to install inserts.
