How to align headlight sheet metal with hood and fender

Hey guys, I just put on my new hood, and I'm wondering how to adjust my one headlight. It's got a 3/8" space between the hood on one side, but no gap at all on the left side of the same head light. I'm just wondering, how do I push the head light so it goes toward the windshield? Thanks, KP.

Re: How to align headlight sheet metal with hood and fender

Ive got the same question with my 89 firebird, its got a 91 front clip and headlights, however, one is shimmed with the correct gap and the driver side however is not...

my other problem is, however well shimmed and nice looking the passanger side headlight is, when flipped up and on, the beam seems to shine about 3-5 feet OFF the ground and illuminates the cars and trees in front of me, which is nice however i do enjoy seeing the road more... any thoughts on how 2 fix that as well?

Kevman, the headlight module has bolts that allow for adjustment without unbolting the assembly from the car. I can get pics in the morning of this when I go to rewire my IAC. Oh, and if you have a pic of your problem, it might help so that I could walk you through it.

Jolly, if you look at the headlight with the light popped up, you will see 2 holes in the trim piece around the sealed beam. These are adjustment screws. The one on the top is for the up/down. You might want to remove the trim piece and put some penetrating oil on the screws before you try to turn them, otherwise you will need to get new ones. Using a philips screwdriver, turn the top screw left until your light lines up with the other one, left being down.
