Hood Decision

I'm looking to push my car and go about 120-155 if possible, but i'm curious on my hood. I have a 89 z28 hood currently and was looking into cowl. But I want to make sure i buy the right hood. I heard incidents where peoples hoods split; cracked; shattered; etc, and i just want to make sure before i use my current or when i shop for a new one, thats all. Anyone help on this?

regards,
Timinsk
