88' T/A rear spoiler cracked paint
My rear spoiler is in good shape it seems but the original paint is cracked and flaking off.
Can these things be repainted, or should I just find a new one?

yea, you are able to paint them again. You should strip the old paing off and get it all smooth and get it resprayed. I dont see why you cant repaint it. -Matt

Re: 88' T/A rear spoiler cracked paint
I have heard this problem is sort of common for the late eighties T/A's spoiler setup. Possibly a stress crack or design flaw. With that being said replacing it won't help, just repair and repaint!

Re: 88' T/A rear spoiler cracked paint
the 85-90 trans am spoilers were foam and metal, this means the foam will absorb any water, in turn the metal rusts out which deforms the spoiler and cracks the paint. your best bet is to go with a fiberglass reproduction from hawks thirdgen parts.
