Re: fiberglass hood probs

was the hood new or used? If it was used, possibly the last owner left the springs on and forced it to bulg.... not sure how you'd fix it though... if there is even a fix!!!

Re: fiberglass hood probs

Probably why the holes were busted out, they tried to use the steel heavy hood springs and flexed things to much.

Put something heavy in them spot and leave it in the hot sun allot, it will help some.

Re: fiberglass hood probs

it was used. the first owner actually he forgot to put the pins in and went for a drive. and the hood went open. i got it for a good deal and it looked straight so i got it. now that it is bolted it lookes bowed. on the sides. but it looks like the bow is opposite what I thought it should be. maybe i can releif cut it. and see if i can straighten it out. just thought maybe someone could have a different idea.
----------
anyone know what hood shocks i should use for a fiberglass hood or what is the proper thing to do with that. I.E. leave them off or get a specific part number ones.

I was just wondering if you had any struts on when the pics were taken. I thought from the pics taking them off would help the bow. As much work as it would be I think a relief cut and repair would be the surest method of getting it straight ... but probably not an easy job. Personally I like working with fiberglass, it's amazing stuff.
