Re: Chronicles of A 91 RS
use straight super clean and take your carpet to the car wash and preasure wash it
you could use some fabric die but I found that interior plastic paint works the best but gets expensive unless you are touching up a carpet that is already the color you are painting

Sounds like the plan is approx late summer and I'll be in your neck of the country. We'll see what/when it actually happens - you know how "predictable" the military can be!
Re: Chronicles of A 91 RS
I don't know the difference between regular carpeting and automotive carpet, but we dyed our house carpet from pepto bismol pink to black about 3 years ago and it still looks good.
lol.

You got black carpet in the HOUSE??
EESHH!
Anyway, carz you gonna remove the mirrors and gfx before primer/paint?
Re: Chronicles of A 91 RS
Yeah. It goes well with the hunter green walls in the living room, the dark blue walls in my bedroom, and the black walls in my parents bedroom.
If you don't know where you're going when you walk in the front door, you're SOL. It's like a cave in there.

Same, I had purchased a flowmaster 80 series catback. However i had them do 2 1/2 inch pipe....my opinion i should have done 3 inch, I guess next time. Also the tips you can get at any reputable exhaust shop, and you can tack them on yourself if you have a welder. ...Pics tonight of primer...battery dead in camera right now

Re: Chronicles of A 91 RS
The goal for the Car is to have the main body and jams all painted this weekend that way as i get the rest of the parts done they can go right back on, The car was taken all apart, then put the doors fenders and front bumper back on to make sure that the body lines all looked good. The passenger side quarter panel im still not really 100% satisfied with so i am gonna go over it again. I mean it looks good and to the average person it would be fine but since i know where the imperfections are it is hard for me to over look them even if no one else will ever notice them. I dont know alot of the history of the car but it had been banged up and painted afew times. There were spots on the drivers side that the paint and clear just fell off . the lower section of the drivers side fender was never sanded the last time it was painted . We took a razor blade to it and the clear just peeled off and it was still shiney under it. I know that it has taken alittle longer then i first thought it would, but the my old boss taught me to never half *** anything just because no one would notice or ever know or because the average person doesnt know what to look for. The two pictures that i am posting this time is of the car mostly together and all but the front bumper in primer. they are kinda foggy i didnt realize that it was that foggy in there still when i took the pictures but i will take some new ones tonight so that they are clear and try post sometime this week

Re: Chronicles of A 91 RS
dang carz! Looks like its coming along nice so far.
Glad to see you decided to do the disassembly for the paint. The end results will turn out SOOOOO much cleaner.
And yeah,I know exactly what you mean about little imperfections that probably noone else will see but,if you're like me it will continue to annoy you if it isn't fixed(even if noone else ever notices, its always going to be the first thing YOU see when you look at the car.
Hopefully my 91-z will be in primer sometime before the end of the month.

Re: Chronicles of A 91 RS
yeah carz,I have to agree with Aaron on this one.
But,if you want something other than the stock wheels that is totally up to you.
I will say that I don't think those wheels would look good on a third gen.

I like aftermarket but those rims may look out of place bro but to all their own. Maybe you can have someone photoshop them on your car to see how they look. I am a fan of the stocks u have on tho.

car looks good, I really like the color, Id pass on those rims, and 215 50 17 is not really the greatest size of tire if your looin for 17s make sure and get at least 245 wide tires, IMO

Re: Chronicles of A 91 RS
The long awaited finished results. I dont know if you notice but in these pics the grille is in place, it however is no longer. After the paint cures for a while i am gonna go over and wetsand the entire car...than buff and hopefully have a smooth glasslike finish. You all know this was my first ever attemp on a paint job...and if i might say it turned out pretty darned good. Just a few flaws in the paint that are noticable by me and those who do this as a hobby/profession. Hope you all enjoy my NEW CAMARO!!

Man,car looks very good! I will say though,if you want to keep the car nice, you better fix that little rust problem on the d/s floorpan.Appears to be an easy fix right now but,if you ignore it and just throw new carpet in it, that little hole is only gonna get bigger everyday.

Re: Chronicles of A 91 RS
I just read through this thread for the first time, and have to say great job on the car, and nice updates as you went along. Kinda surprised to see how fast you went through it as well, that wouldve been an easy year long thing for me probably (but i work 6 days a week, thats why), but great job and it looks great. Also sorry to hear you had to sell it, at least it will be more likely to still lead a long happy life since it looks so good whoever bought it will probably keep her shining real nice. I know i would if I had it.
