Rear Hatch Panel

The body panel that is bolted to the rear hatch on my car is out of alignment. It is positioned too far to the left. This panel is held on by several nuts and I need to know if you have ever taken one off? Is their a seal under it that I might ruin if I take it apart? What torque do the nuts have to be when they are reinstalled? I don't want to break my back window.
Any help will be appreciated

Re: Rear Hatch Panel

How tight do you tighten the bolts that hold on the rear panel onto the glass? If it is pinching the glass could you tighten too much and break it?

Also can you use a heat gun to soften the seal and slide panel into position without ruining the seal?
