Firstly, lets not debate which sets look better, its been done, and everyone has their own tastes. It seems to be a love it or leave it situation. My question is, has anyone tried combining the 91-92 bumper and front fender Trans Am GFX with an 85-90 Trans Am package? I have a ram air I hood and I really like the way the bumper blends into the hood smoothly on the 91-92, but I prefer the way the 85-90 GFX and spoiler finish off the middle and rear of the car. I think that this combo might make the car look longer, and sleeker, but I am unsure, and I don't know anything about photoshop. Anyone done this or have an opinion?? Thanks in advance.

I am putting 85-90 GFX on my 91 GTA. I never cared for the way of the GFX on the rockers and quarters on the 91-92 birds looked which is the reason I am changing them.
Heres a Photo of deadbird's car I photoshopped last winter of what I want my car to look like. I am keeping my 91-92 spoiler on though.

The ground effects on the later 85-90 models go up higher on the side of the body than the 91-92 style by a few inches. If you want it to be even down the length of the car, you will need to use the side ground effects and rear bumper off of a 84 model TA. Those type are the same height as the 91-92 model. If you have an 85+ year model and vented fenders, you will need to swap out the vents too for the 82-84 model which are taller.

Ok, I am learning here. Thanks very much for the pic. Remarkable, I DO have a set of 84 GFX, but only the rockers to rear bumper, no front bumper (it sold fast!!) The 82-84 vents are taller than the 85+ ones?? I have heard that, but didn't think it could be true. Are the fenders the same (with cut outs), just the vents are different? I was thinking of getting some vented fenders, there are some available locally.

Sounds like your in good shape then, since you wont need the front bumper or ground effects off the 84. The vents have the same outer size, but the actual vent hole with the grill is shorter on later models. They made the vent hole shorter so the taller 85-90 ground effects wouldnt cover the lower part of them. I put a pic up with side by side reference os them both. You could use the the 85+ vents just fine, but they look a bit odd with that flat area at the bottom.
