Worth it?
I have been wanting to get a 3rd gen for a while, and am looking at this for a project: http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/cto/1252595065.html
Or else waiting a month or two till I can buy something running, the poster said the car needs an engine and front quarter panels, as well as interior work, and I'm wondering how much work and cost would have to go into it to get it road worthy.
To that end I am also wondering how difficult and costly it would be to have a 3.1L v6 dropped into it from my current car. The Camaro in question had a 2.8L in it originally and in 1990 they switched over to the very same 3.1L engine I currently have in my Lumina, which will undoubtedly far outlast said Lumina. I'm unsure of what if any changes would need to be made to accomadate the 3.1L since it wasn't implemented till the next year camaro.
But basically I am curious how much money and parts would have to go into the car to make it road worthy, and whether or not its a good price for the condition or if I should just save up for something running. I have also been trying to find carbon fiber body panels to price for it, but haven't found any, does anyone know if they're even made for 3rd gens?
