well i have an 84 Z28. everything back there is stock. LCAs, panhard bar, and of course the rear. next spring i plan on upgrading all of that.i looked under it and saw that its covered in rust. what ways do you guys suggest i go about getting rid of it?
i thought of
sandblasting it.
using some of that rust converter spray/ rust converter primer, then painting the rear.
idk about any other options or which would be best.

Sandblasting would be best, I think, along with a thorough degreasing. POR-15 as an overcoat works extremely well. I power-washed mine and used a wire brush before slapping on some POR-15, and the rear, after several years, still looks great.

POR-15 is great stuff, but do not get it on your skin. I had a patch of black on my leg for 2 months due to dropping the axle tube when it was still wet.
If you can sandblast, that is the best option. If not do-able, wire wheel on a drill will work very well too.
