interchangeable bumper

hey, i just wanted to know if it's possible to take a front bumper from like an '83 firebird, and put i on an '86?

The only differences you'll run into between the years, are the mounting holes for ground fx. Some cars have them some cars don't. Like on the doors & fenders.....The 91/92 holes are different than the 85-90. But a simple drill bit will fix that "problem".

that's excellent, thank you. sorry to ask a common question, i poked around a bit befor ei posted but didnt find anything related. by ground effects you mean those lights that glow under the car, if so no bother to me. thank you very much for the help.

No. Ground Effects are those "plastic" rocker panel pieces.

oh... well i think i know what your talking about then... i take them off my vehicles anyway... figure they look tacky... hey, another question... if i did get the bumper off an 83.... and put it on a 86... well i dont think the 83 has fog lights.... what do i do about that?

Just bolt it on.

As I said before, only the ground effects had different mounting holes.

If you think ground effects look tacky, you must hate every 3rd gen made after 86 (except the Formulas & lower lever cars).

well, no... i dont particularly care for the later ones... in fact i think they looked best when they first came out, and slowly declined... why im looking to put older parts on mine, lol... thank for the help!!
