removing side glass

Is there a way to get the side glass out without punching out the rivets that hold the glass in? I was wondering if I could disengage the power window motors and remove the scissors and the glass as an assembly. I am in the progress of doing weather stripping and can't get the outer felt strips off because of the two screws behind the glass. I tried some of the tricks that people have mentioned but I'm afraid to break the glass. I am thinking if I can remove the whole assembly I can do this quickly and easily.

If there is a way to remove the assembly then which bolts do I need to undo to pull it out?
