Flooring always wet

the passenger foot flooring is always wet when i stick my hand under the carpeting. i thought water was getting in when it rained but my car has been sitting in my garage (winter season) and i turn on my car every once an awhile and its still wet under the carpet. what could it be?

Re: Flooring always wet

could be the heater core, but could also be a leaky door seal or the grommet for the wiring going to the door could be leaking. It was on my 92 and i got a serious puddle on the floor from it.

Re: Flooring always wet

i pulled all the carpet out of my camaro and havent drivin the car in months and both front portions of the carpet were soaked. water was coming in through the rusted front panels and since theres no air moving around the carpet never dries.

Re: Flooring always wet

Moisture will stay under there for a long time if the carpet isn't lifted and dried out. I think you would smell it if it was antifreeze.
