new 85 T/A

ok, so I bought a blue 1985 T/A w/ T-Tops and silver ground effects. I've got a body kit that i've had for a while that I got with my 82 T/A which is now gone. my question is how do I attach the body kit double stick tape in numerous places on contact points? adhesive? I had the last guy rivet it to the body, I know that's wrong...

i really like the body kit and would like to put it on, after painting it black...

This is my first running T/A so i wanna make it look good.

You COULD use double sided tape, but you would want something on each end of each piece to secure them in place. I did a quick search and found these:

This tells you basically how to do it, and this is the tape you would want to use.

Hope this helps, and good luck.

double sided tape would work good. My dad used it to put the fake side scoops on his stang and its still holding. Its very strong stuff, just make sure to prep the area correctly with the alcohol pads and stuff before hand.

Re: new 85 T/A

Awesome thank you very much. I guess I didn't think that double stick tape would hold it on, but now that I think about it, if all the areas are cleaned then the tape put on it should stick very nicely.

my one concern tho, I'll admit, i'm a teenager and a speeed freak. how well will that tape hold on the body kit if i happen to wind it up to 120+?

it's just an idea I thought of.

thanks again for all of your help guys!

You should be ok, as long as it's not constantly that fast... if all the stupid ricers around here can do it (if their cars even go that fast) I'm sure you'd be ok
