82-84 TA hood = 85-92 Formula hood?
82-84 TA hood = 85-92 Formula hood?
The title of the thread pretty much sums up my question! lol
I've decided appearance-wise, that I want to make my base model 91 bird a Formula clone. Once in a while, I see Formula hoods pop up on places like craigslist and such. Sometimes I see early 80's trans am hoods, and from what I can tell, they look identical to the Formula hoods from the mid-later years.
The question is, are they the same hood? And will the 82-84 T/A hoods fit on a 91? Thanks!

All the same other then the newer ones had blockoff plates on the cowl vent. 82 also could be had with Aluminum hoods but are rare. Otherwise they are the same hood.

It is just there for looks. It looks identical from the outside, but when you look into the opening, there is an aluminum plate that blocks it off rather than the functional hoods that had that honeycomb mesh.
