Sport coupe with spoiler?

I'm looking at buying a 1986 sport coupe and it has a spoiler. I'm just curious...was a spoiler an option on 1986 sport coupes?
I've tried looking everywhere for this information and I can't find the answer.

The spoiler was a factory option on my 1987 sport coupe.
