1991 Front Fender Question

I just picked up a 1991 Camaro Convertible, it needs a new front right hand fender as the current one has a big dent in it. Luckily the ground effects are ok. I have seen some companies list fenders as being 82-92 compatiable and others listed as 82-90 and then 91-92. The fenders listed for 82-90 (or 82-92) are much cheaper than the ones listed 91-92, so what is the difference. Is it only the mounting holes for the ground effects? Or is there a big difference? As the price is significantly more on the 91-92 only fender.

Just curious as I am trying to rebuild the Camaro on a budget..... Thanks

Re: 1991 Front Fender Question

really, the only difference is the mounting holes for the ground effects. If you get the cheaper one, then you can mod the ground effects or the fender to make it fit.

Thats what I think is right, guys correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, see if there is anyone on here selling fenders, (like me for example). It might be cheaper. Or it might not, the shipping on those will be quite a bit. Just another option. the one I have is from the 82-90 era.

Re: 1991 Front Fender Question

Also, a thing to remember is that fenders that are on convertibles are modified, and ones on hard tops / t-tops arent. Part of the bottom of the fender needs to e cut off, and there is a bracket that gets riveted on and it mounts differently. Try a search to see what I am talking about.

Re: 1991 Front Fender Question

the difference between them is the mounting holes for the front ground effects.. The 85-90 have three holes for the retainer. the 91-92 ones have slots.

As for being vert specfic. They aren't. Cut 4" off the bottom, between the door and wheel well opening and pop rivet the bracket back on. It is as simple as that. I had to do the same to my vert a few years ago when I first went over the car.
