Ttop leak prevention?

Not sure if this is the right place, if so please move it moddies! Well I have 1 1992 with t tops that don't leak, and I'm in high school so taking them out is something I really want to do cuz I love the way it looks and its a good wow factor at my school. But my rents (both of whom are die hard f bod fans. My dad has a 1993 z28 and my mom used to have a 2000 z28, and for my first car I had a 1997 rs but she died due to engine fail so now I'm switching to thirdgens) anyway my rents said that third gens had HUGE issues with the seal gaskets going out and the t tops leak all the time. So I was wondering if there was anything I could do to prevent them from leaking while still being able to take them out. Thanks!

All you can really do is make sure your weathestripping is good, and make sure the t-top seals are as well. You should experience no leaking if everything is in due order. Otherwise, besides replacing seals when they go bad, there's not too much else you can do. Just keep on top of it!
