92 rs???????
hey all first time poster and new 3rd gen owner. i purchased a 92 rs a couple days ago, i have always loved the bodies and i'm thrilled i just hope i didn't let the car cloud my judgment. the engine has been swapped to 350ci (yes) but is still tbi (no) i have a edelbrock high rise and holley 600cfm carb thinking bout a conversion. the body is rough, the interior is 60%, junk doors, and someone SCREWED a hood scoop on i gave 600 for the car it runs and drives but lot of lag i think its the computer reason for carb conversion i found i 91 donor for 250 with excellent doors aftermarket fiberglass hood and 3:73 posi its a drag project with no motor or tranny how does it sound like im doing????

Pretty much anything on these cars can be replaced if you're willing to get into metal work.

Re: 92 rs???????
my first goal is not to put more into the car than i can get back out i just want something to keep up with lightly modified lt1's i was just wondering if i paid to much for the car to start with the book value isnt great on them and i havent priced any till recently and im worried its goin to run into more money than i want to spend i gave 3800 for my last fourwheeler and id by far have more fun with the car so i dont care to put 38 to 45 hundred in the car minus paint i dont know if replacement parts are hard to come buy or if have to pay a arm and leg for them when i do. the motor aint no big deal sbc are a dime a dozen

Parts? I loved junk yarding for them--and there are a ton of thirdgens in the weeds, at least in my section of the country--so you might save some hard-earned dough by scouring the yards or craigslist and so on.
Have fun with the car.

Your on the right track IMO. You should do well as long as you take the parts you need and part out the rest. I actually made money on my IROC in parts sales after I parted out the leftovers.
Right now I'm working on a 4th Gen Formula that I have $200 into!!! Bought it for $1000, sold the stainless headers for $460 and honeycomb tail lights for $350 because I had the stock replacements lying around for free. The next thing I want to do is sell the 3:73 rear end and put the stock posi back in. That will bring the price down further.
My point is you can get this hobby to pay for itself with some smarts and elbow grease
