85-90bumper/91-92gfx

0ok heres the deal.... i have an 89 formula....

wanna make it a t/a "clone"

i have an 85-90 t/a front bumper and fender gfx and
91-92 gfx from the doors back including the matching rear bumper...

for the life of me i cant find anyone else who has done it except for 1 pic i saw of a car in a driveway i believe...

if anyones got some close up pics... that would be awesome...

also while im at it... since my car never came with gfx do i need that bar to hold the up or can i just drill holes into the door and mount them that way...

thanx guys

Re: bumper/gfx

If you do it without the bar on the rocker panel that top edge will be loose. It will have no support. The rocker ground effect only sits against the rocker panel and not on top at all. It would be very weak and I would imagine easily subject to breaking. I do not know about interchanging but will have either a set of bars from a 85 to 90 or a set from 91-92 after I do mine. I am switching over to the 89- 90 style bumpers and ground effects on my 91. I just will not be starting any body work till I get it running.

Re: 85-90bumper/91-92gfx

On the T/A I just stripped at the junkyard the bars are spot welded to the rocker panel. I did not look real close as to how many or where because they were closing. The bars have a lip that goes against the rocker under the shelf part where they are welded to the car. This was all told to me by others on here so Thanks to them.I will be going back again in about two weeks. I have not looked at the ones on my 91 to see if they are different or not because the rocker ground effect is still on.
