Has any one gotten one of these and modded in a 3rd brake light?
-
I really like these but I have an 88 that has the light in the spoiler, so i would either have to swap for 86 hatch/91+ hatch or mod the spoiler to fit 3rd brake light in it. I figured just cutting into the spoiler would be easier than swapping hatches because then I'd have to fix the wiring to top of hatch inside of bottom of it where spoiler is.
-
Has anyone fit a brake light into the 5inch spoiler? Would it fit? Havn't seen a post about this
Post pics if you have please

I dont think the light would fit, but you could mod your spoiler how tpi terror did.

Modding it would be easy if it is hollow like the stock one. Just need to cut the hole and remove the glued mounting brackets from the stock one, clean them and glue them one the new one. I recommend liquid nails construction adhesive.

haha doubt I could do that, my skills are limited to this stuff >.>
Figure if the LED would fit in the 5" just cut and place if it were hollow. If it was solid, cut hole for light then drill holes from bottom up for wires.
-
EDIT IN: it might not even look good w/ LED in it, since its taller. reason was wondering if its been done before

if you want man, help is greatly appreciated. Just making out plans of paint schemes/hoods/interior/exterior designs ect now. Probably wont start building til next spring when i have a job and spare $(18yr old no job atm lol). I'm honestly still debating on keeping the car as is, or customizing it (keeping the original parts if i ever wanted to revert back)Originally Posted by JR350tpi

Some people are even mad at me irl for thinking of modding it lmao b/c of its current condition, lol. your thoughts?

Well im also 18 and fixing my car but mine looked nothing as clean as yours i would just keep yours like that and save up some money then fix it once it really needs it.
It would be best that you just polish the wheels, and believe it or not it changes the look a lot.

lol believe it or not, i only spent 3,000$ on it. The dude didn't know what he had (altho that 3k was everything i had saved from bank/previous jobs lol) has some minor electrical problems and a dented passenger fender, but thats it. Its the 88 iroc L98, so it has the tpi'd 350 (rebuilt 3years ago by jaspers)

As for custom all i wanted to do for exterior was ASCD SS hood, the 5in Spoiler w/ light if can(thread). Repaint it (its original paint+decals atm, but is starting to go). Was planning on keeping the original wheels or getting black cross-laced gta rims. Maybe a set of american racing rims down the road.
-
interior: 4th gen seats/all better audio/b&m mega-shifter/grant steering wheel. Nordskog Red Digi dash(if they're back in time, slowing coming back into production i hear)
-
as for performance just either shorties/long tubes. highflow cat, and GMMG catbacks. (would get more into this when i got the $$ and know how. performance being they're great stock, is last on my list. I want it to look good/sound good/ and be reliable first.
-------
EDIT IN: the wheels are pretty polished and nice. They got some imperfections but they look great long as u don't put ur face right in them and look lol

Well i got my car cheap too since i wanted a projet car to make it look howi wanted it i got mine for $900, and already have about $800 in it. You got a lot of plans for your car then but how people tell me we have to have patience especially since we aint got that much $$ been young.
