my home made custom wing.

this project took me a while to complete...
didnt want to pay for the hawks wing.
hopefully it last long.
it still needs minor adjustmeants such as the passenger side..
i used bunch of fiberglass resin squared off the edges to form the top. and filler on top.
looks like it held on pretty good
tell me what u guys think .

measure 6 inches. and 5 inches tall with a small crease.

something different that indeed looks good.

Use a large single piece of Styrofoam cut and sanded to shape as a core. lay up the glass over it.

Really just posting this for those that wondered how it was done. the styro core is probably the easiest method. Don't know what you used as a core but it does look nice.
I know from experience that working with glass is much more of an art form than a mechanical skill. And I ain't no artist lol.

Re: my home made custom wing.

Looks like a well done job, but I think it looks kinda bulky. The ones I've seen look to have a much steeper angle on them, and I think this makes the different look. Funny though, I was actually thinking of doing something similar this winter too since I may not be doing anything to the drivetrain.

Re: my home made custom wing.

Do it like the Spurs 1st gen.

The Spurs logo was billet, but sunk in level with the body surface, instead of setting on top Same with the side door molding. Bumper to bumper along the side, but sunk in, not just on top.

If you can mold a whole new spoiler, cutting a place for an emblem, like the SLP, shouldn't be very hard for you to do.

Re: my home made custom wing.

any pics of that emblem? is it the camaro emblem in the rear?

i want it to match and flow with the rest of the car. i have home made 69 blue bowtie grille, silver irocz decals sotck location and a slp badge in the rear. i have a pair of chrome gm excellence 2" emblems that i am might add in the same location as the c6 z06s have but not sure if they go with the car.

You could put a camaro decal emblem like this on it. that way it's not bulking out. No idea what your going for tho So just a suggestion

It's the Spurs logo, but gives you the concept of cutting the bowtie shape in & sinking a bowtie down.

Re: my home made custom wing.

dude that is an awesome job id buy that over the hawks anyday! for the rear it would be cool to sink the old school "Camaro" badge into and "clear" it over over so you can see the chrome emblem but its smooth to run your hand over you get what im sayin? cuz im not exactly sure i can explain it right lol like what stephen said but with no hole just smooth this is the logo im talkin about not the 350 one
