Rubber Spoiler?

I just actually realized that I have the wrong year spoiler on my 86 trans am. I currently have the flat metal one on it. So I was thinking of putting the original wrap around spoiler on it. After going to the salvage yard, I saw one that was made of rubber/foam. Are all the wrap around spoilers made from this material? Did they make them out of metal or fiberglass at all?
