Seeking for a Car-O-Liner chassis jig data sheet for my 1988 Iroc-z Camaro

Hello folks !

Unfortunately, I crashed my 1988 Iroc-Z into trees during past winter.

As the repairs only began last week (a huge delay due to insurance experts, who had never previously seen an american car ), my auto body shop asked me today if I could find a data sheet for my Camaro, that would be suitable to use with a Car-O-Liner chassis jig (not sure of my translation... maybe "pulling table" would be more appropriate ?).

They have a database for their chassis jig, but unfortunately, it only contains data concerning european cars... (I live in France...)

Could someone on the forum be kind enough to provide me such a data sheet ?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help !

Pas de problème, toute information est la bienvenue.

"No problem, any information is welcome".

Nous avons déjà les mesures du shop manual, mais mon carrossier cherche une fiche de marbre, difficilement trouvable sur internet.

"We already have the measures in the shop manual, but the guy at the body shop is seeking for a chassis jig data sheet, which is hardly findable on the internet".

I'll see what I can come up with tomorrow. Should be able to get something off of our measuring system. I believe it's a Genesis, it's got a universal chart with it you should be able to use. Send me your e-mail and I'll scan it and send it to you Friday night.

You got mail. Just let me know if you can't read part of it. Printer at work is POS, had to give it a little adjustment. Slap!

You're very welcome, glad I could help.

Check out my album in profile. I am very happy with the way my 300 dollar car turned out.

Re: Seeking for a Car-O-Liner chassis jig data sheet for my 1988 Iroc-z Camaro

Thanks again Ghost. It took about a year from the time I put on the roof till it hit the road, and lots of cold beer. I just wish pics would pick up the paint better. Both colors are three stage. Photographer at f-body gathering had a polarizing lens I believe he called it. He was playing with it quite a bit trying to catch some color flop. Most pics come out with blotches of the flop. We'll see how it looks when the disc comes out. Good luck with yours and post some pics. Let me know if you need anything else.

Re: Seeking for a Car-O-Liner chassis jig data sheet for my 1988 Iroc-z Camaro

Thanks again ya'll. I try to help or guide people in body work on here but sometimes my post are confusing. LOL This frame sheet is cut and dry. Very surprised other "body men" on this board don't have this info.

Haven't been on here much lately, hail storm and tourist season has us pretty busy. Booking for middle of July and they just keep wrecking. Glad we weren't in some other parts of the country. Let me know if I can help on anything.

PM sent.

Does the engine/transmission need to be removed to put a Camaro on the Car-o-liner bench?

Email sent.

I can get a sheet that is for if the engine and tranny is out if you need it. Makes a little difference in height.

Not for sure about putting f-body on car o liner with engine out. I've never used one. I would really think you could.

Re: Seeking for a Car-O-Liner chassis jig data sheet for my 1988 Iroc-z Camaro

Thanks for your help Danny.

So, you'd usually leave the engine in when putting the car up on a car-o-liner rack?

The reason I ask is I'd prefer to avoid having to remove the engine.

Re: Seeking for a Car-O-Liner chassis jig data sheet for my 1988 Iroc-z Camaro

I haven't used a car o liner. We use Chief machines. I've never heard of a brand of frame machine that you had to remove the engine to put the car on the machine. The only reason I can think of for pulling the engine before putting a car on a frame machine is for access or room to do the repairs. If you are replacing a front rail then yes you need to pull the engine first. We use special made dollies for fourth gens and front wheel drive cars where we have to remove the drive train and front suspension out the bottom.
