OE 4th gen TA spoiler
Anyone done this? I have seen someone mention using a original 5th gen TA spoiler on a 3rd gen, but how does it fit if it has been done and what mods have to be done to make it work?

Re: OE 4th gen TA spoiler
You didn't see mine at the Texas State Gathering? I think I saw your car there, maybe not.
Anyways....If you do it? Get a 93-97 wing. Despite the 98-02 wings LOOKING the same? They aren't. The bottoms are different. The "LS1" wings don't sit flat.
Here is my GTA with the LS1 wing & FYRCHKNs red TA with the LT1 wing.
Our wings....
EDIT:My bad....Thought it said 4th gen, since there is no 5th gen TA.
EDIT 2:Title says 4th gen so....."5th gen" was a typo in the post?

Re: OE 4th gen TA spoiler
I did not make ti to the state gathering unfortunatly.
But, how does it bolt on? Easy? Little to no modification? The LT1 piece looks like the way to go and a ton cheaper than the hawks piece i am sure, LOL.

Re: OE 4th gen TA spoiler
With both the LT & LS wing, you have to drill new holes & plug the old ones (i welded mine shut) but the LT sits flat where the LS doesn't. My close up pics show how the LS bottoms sit at an angle/sloped.

Re: OE 4th gen TA spoiler
I understand that, but what about where the wing wraps around the window? How do you secure that to the car?

Re: OE 4th gen TA spoiler
Honestly, you don't need to.
Mine never have been fastened, nor have I ever had them move. I seriously doubt that you will find ANYBODY that has used a 4th OEM with with wing tips held down.

Re: OE 4th gen TA spoiler
Mine's been on the car for 3+ years now with no issues. There is no need to attach the wrap around arms. The wing is SOLID and once it's bolted to the hatch it aint goin anywhere.

Re: OE 4th gen TA spoiler
The one that Hawk's sells is a smaller made for our cars version that is bolt on ready. The OEM piece must be modified to fit. It requires taking some material off in some places and adding more in others. It's really not that hard to do.

Re: OE 4th gen TA spoiler

Re: OE 4th gen TA spoiler
Ok, apparently, the part numbers for the LT1 and LS1 are the same, so i need to mod one and get it on, because the LT1 piece is the identical piece. So, how the hell did one fit easier than the other in the above post Stephen?
