What should i do?
Whats up guys? Im in sort of a dilemma right now and could use u guys' opinion. As usual i didnt really know where to post this so here i am...I have an 89 rs with a carbed 305 in it and as of yesterday im officially the owner of a white 92 with the 3.1 i believe..i know its a v6 tho. My dd is the black one...im having a few problems with it and it also needs bodywork and the interior is pretty much horrible. The 92 i just bought has minor body damage but its in waaay better shape than my dd. The interior is almost perfect but it just doesnt run. I understand 92 is the 25th anniversary edition so i dont really think i wanna use it for parts. Would u guys recommend i use parts from my 89 and put a 350 in the 92 or should i just use the gfx/interior in my 89? and jus drop the 350 in it? Idk...im confused...i love my dd but i think the 92 would make a better car once finished. What do u guys think? ANY input would be helpful here. Thanks alot

Re: What should i do?
Continue to use the 89 as your DD, turn the 92 into a resto - mod project. That way you'll have something to drive while you build the 92 as you want to and can afford to..
Good luck

That being the case; If you're considering a possible swap conversion between the 89 / 92, there are a lot of year specific compatibility issues beyound the simple parts transplant. In 1990 several changes were made, most and foremost the wiring harnesses are not the same. You might be able to work through that and all of the other unforseen problems but in short, because all of the 89 /92 differences the project will take a lot longer than you're expecting. Been there, done that. And if you think your mom wont like it, your right! You'll have two dead cars in the drive for a long time...

ya..i was just reading about the wiring harness and such..what are the other problems u encountered during your swap? Is there an easier way to get a sbc in the 92 without messing with my dd?

I'd say either keep both up until you can get the money to resto them both, or sell the 89 to someone and get the new one running.

Re: What should i do?
Just a quick question...someone told me the only 92's that are really worth anything are the ones with the heritage option. is this true? if so ill probably just end up using it for parts for my 89. The v6 to v8 swap would be a bit much for me right now and i dont have the time or money to put into it...u guys dont think id be wasting a good third gen if i did that do u?
