recomend me a hood pin setup?

Looking to purchase hood pins for a fiberglass glastek pin on 4" cowl hood. Anyone got any ones that they like or had issues with?

Wat would be better, aluminum or stainless? 3/8" DIA or 7/16" DIA or 1/2" DIA? hairpin or torsion pin style? What length should i get? 2.75", 3" or 4"?

i was thinking of these

bc i dont want an extra long hood pin if i dont need one or a large pin at that. just what will hold it down and not scream HOLY SHINNY HOOD PINS!

Re: recomend me a hood pin setup?

the ones i used were 7/16, chrome steel, they are pretty long, but i put them throguh where the hood bumper were, just behind the headlights, so the extra length is all hidden under the upper core support. I dont know if those ones you linked to are long enough to work, maybe, but im unsure. I would rather have a longer one and have to trim it down that have to send it back.

I like the aluminum ones though, black anodized....might have to swap mine out.

thats where i was going to stick them as well. That way i can get them to the length i need. How thick are the pin on hoods? I think the black anodized will look nice since the car is black that way they dont stick out like shinny sticks.

glad to know that the aluminum ones hold up... would 3/8" or 1/2" be better? Id rather use a smaller DIA if i could that way its a smaller hole in the hood.

those are sweet, but not sure if id like them... thats a large hole to be drilling in the hood lol. But the old style hood pins look meaner to me.

It states the inherit flaws of the old design hood pins... yet i dont know what they are, nore does it state them.

I like the locking Aerocatchers due to the fact that i could lock the hood. Which is the biggest draw back to hood pins. Yet the 80$ price tag is expensive for 2 pins.

Get the bigger one, for stronger holding power. Either size you go with, you'll have the same sized scuff disc setting around them. But with the larger pin, it'll be holding stronger.
