So proud to day bought a 1988 camaro last night!!!! Very glad to own a 3rd gen. My question is this, how do i open the trunk? I know silly noob question.. Also going to need to change a door and passenger side fender.. Got hit before i bought it.. thanks in advance!

 

The rear license plate hinges down to reveal the key lock. Insert door key, give a twist and lift.

The rear hatch, if motorized, is a very delicate thing ... DON'T SLAM IT! Just push it down until the motor catches it, and the motor will pull it down the rest of the way automatically.

If motorized, usually there is a switch dead center of the console that opens it as well.

 

Dont mean to underestimate you or call you stupid or anything but isnt going from not knowing how to open the trunk to replacing body parts sort of a big step? But, for all I know you more than likely are a master body man that does this stuff all the time but just has a few things to learn about third gens.

Yeah I am pretty good at body work... I found the key whole for the trunk... Thanks for the help.. Drove it to work today and had all kinds of problems will post in the right fourm.. thanks again..
