ok so there's a 1990 IROC-Z for sale around where I live for $4000 OBO. it has 129,xxx miles on the 350 engine, interior is really nice shape, paint is pretty decent, but it has a few problems.

there's 2 pretty big dents on the driver side door and side fender. also looks like the door isn't sitting completely straight on the hinges either. there are also a few chips on the rear bumper above the dual exhaust.

here are some of the pictures of the dent and chips (sorry if they're kind of small) how much would it cost to remove those big dents, and repair the chipped bumber??

Without the damage that'd be a decent price on the car. The damage is repairable, but the fender and door are going to need either a lot of work or replaced.

Not sure what your location is, but you also need to think about rust. It is such a factor with these cars, that you have to get under and look at the floor pans, check out wheel wells, etc etc. Can't really even start on price until you know that one.

Assuming little/no rust, the price is too high, but a fair price probably isn't unreachable.

 

I believe that the price is too high with that many miles and that kind of damage. For $4,000, I would expect lower miles at least if not a fairly straight body. Also, the chips above the exhaust are curious- did the car get bottomed out and the exhaust dragged? Looks to be kind of "beat". I'd pass, personally.

 

yea i was thinking of offering about $3200 and maybe at most going $3400. I would saying that it would be around $500 or so to get those dents out, plus some touch up paint for the front bumper. but yes i would check under the hood, the car it self, make sure everything else is in working drivable condition before considering making an offer
