Spoiler question
I dont know if anybody is going to be able to help me, but ill ask anyway. I just bought a Z20 spoiler. The bolts on the spoiler don't match the holes on the hatch on my Formula. This package was for base model Birds if I remember right. Are the hatches from the base model Birds different from other models? I know the hatch can be welded and redrilled, but I don't know how to weld and I'm not sure what it would cost to have someone do it. I'm just looking at my options.

Re: Spoiler question
No I'm not. The spoiler is part of a package that was offered in 1988, if I'm not mistaken, for base model Firebirds. It was really low production from what I read. Sorry if I wasn't really all that clear about it. But I also already solved my problem and drilled into my decklid and mounted it.

Re: Spoiler question
I have that same spoiler in my rafters. I've yet to try to install mine. It's basically a 2nd gen type design made for the 1988 base model firebirds it was a special dealership option that had to be ordered --> Z20.

I'll have do some digging in the parts cds and see if I can see the different deck lids. My guess would be the Aerowing type we have is a totally different bolt pattern.
Did you just silicone up your old holes?

Re: Spoiler question
Here are the pics. Ive got a little work to do. It needs to be repainted (heck the whole car needs paint) and it has a few cracks that need to be filled. And if you notice that in the third pic that the wing sits too far over to the driver's side, it is centered on the decklid but for some reason the decklid sits farther over to the driver's side.

Looks good on your car, I've been searching high and low for one of these for my Bird as well.

Re: Spoiler question
Did you install the fender flares by chance?
I need some good pics of the front ones from different angles. My kit had bad spoiler, rear flares, but no front flares.
If you send me a good picture I can track it down for you. I own the Camaro and Firebird Parts CDs. I could probably even get your the exact GM Part Number.

Re: Spoiler question
Gerrycat, thanks man. I actually emailed Bruce at Hawks. I'd give them a shot.
Fireturd, no I didn't. I really don't like the way they look on the third gens and I didn't even ask about them when I bought the spoiler.

Re: Spoiler question
Yeah they are. I was actually really surprised when Hawks actually had one. I still can't figure out why this spoiler isn't being reproduced. Its the best looking third gen spoiler IMHO.

Re: Spoiler question
Yeah when we saw his. We were wondering how it would look on a Camaro. But I want the Hawks 5 inch spoiler though.
