new hood
Does anyone see any problems with this hood im thinking of purchasing? (other than the $99.00 freight charge)
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HRD-12101/
its more or less what im looking for... a fiberglass hood, pin on, and at least a 3in cowl (which i need for clearance)
Also, whats a good hood pin set? and does anyone know of a way around that 100 dollar shipping charge?

Re: new hood
I'm sure there are reasons for pin on but still just cant imagine needing two people to raise my hood.

Re: new hood
That's what's nice about fiberglass. My friends fiberglass cowl was extremely light compared to steel, and was manageable to lift with one person. It's still kind of akward because of the size though...

Re: new hood
The only problem with that hood is that fact it's not on your car yet.
Only way around the freight charge is to go pick it up from the warehouse. Some companies charge extra for residential delivery, so shipping it to a commercial location (local body shop maybe) might save you some dinero depending on the freight company. I just got my hood shipped UPS Freight and they were very helpful and fast. Only thing they didn't do was unpack (boxes within boxes like those Russian dolls) it and put it on the car for me. Yea, it is a cost everyone would like to avoid, but it isn't like you're ordering hoods twice a month.
