what does oer stand for? original equipment restoration? is that the new production GM restoration stuff? I can't remember what it looked like but I got some of that GM new reproduction once from trim parts but only had it on the car for a few weeks and had to rip it off to do some paint work and it got ruined then I ordered the Hawks brand of weather stripping which I have now..
Not sure what it stands for but it's name is supposed to imply somehow that the original manufacturer is involved with making their parts and it is just not the case. While they do pay big bucks for licensing from GM, their stuff seems second rate at best. Their parts are usually in a yellow and black box.
Here is what I call the 2nd design (but really the 3rd) original GM on my JY 92 formula. It was to help address the water leaks. Those holes are a tube that ends up down at the bottom of the seal for water to drain.
There are also hard plastic supports that bolt to the ttop pin receiver mounts to help keep the seals from shrinking away from the ttop seal.
A pillar side
B pillar side
I also put this 2nd design on my 89 formula 350 TTOP car back when I repainted it almost 20 yrs ago. Got my 2nd design seals for that from GM for 150 bux for the ttop kit which came wit the hard plastic outer ttop deflector.
VIN break for when the last design came in 91
GM had a few design changes for the T-Top Roof Body Surround Weatherstrip:
◦1982-1987 Used GM # 10198208 & 10198209
◦1988 (1st Design) Used GM # 10064550 & 10064451 WITH an Interlocking Slider Bracket being used
◦1988 (2nd Design) Used GM # 10198208 & 10198209 WITHOUT an Interlocking Slider Bracket being used
◦1989-1990 Used GM # 10198208 & 10198209
◦1991 VIN 186669 & Older Used GM # 10198208 & 10198209
◦1991 VIN 186670 & Newer Used GM # 10165494 & 10165495
◦1992 Used GM # 10165494 & 10165495
GM had a design change in the T-Top side roof glass seal as well. ◦1982-1990 and 1991 (1st design) VIN 186669 & Older used GM # 10165500 for each side.
◦1991 2nd Design VIN 186670 and Newer used GM # 10165496.
I don't think I have ever seen those. The replacement ones I have seen have the previous design and part numbers 10198208 and 10198209. Were they available as replacements? I guess I stand corrected. I had no idea they existed like that from GM.

this is exactly what I wanted to know.. I called a local chevy dealer, they can't get them anymore.. haven't tried gm parts direct but I did call hawks third gen and they said they still sell factory originals but I don't know if they have them for the 92 model with this lip for water. also called 1aauto and they said they don't sell original gm ones anymore but for some reason I still find them on there website
In post 54 above I said I ordered them almost 20yrs ago when I painted my car.
They were only 150 bux from the dealer for the complete TTOP kit back then.
I just installed the Fairchild T-top weather strips. They are quality and have the the drip mods and hard plastic inserts. The rubber is very strong, soft, and flexible. The only down side is that they did not come with the plastic push pins. I had to buy some from Firebird Central.

ok so I finally found the new design OEM GM pieces... unfortunately no body on this planet has the passenger side and there is only 11.. well now 10 left. I bought one .. they only have 10 driver sides left.. question is. I ordered the new design 10165495 (driver side) and both ttop pieces 10165496.. part numbers are close and by the list at the beginning of the post, they should go together but I got them today and there is no mounting tabs for the ttop piece for the glass.. what years came with the mounting tab?
they don't make anything anymore.. but 1 place still has them on the shelf.. they have plenty of the ttop glass side pieces 10165496
I was referring to the Fairchild weatherstrip Ttop350 mentioned.
Usually when a compny makes t top weatherstrip they make the seal for the t top as well to ensure it is a matched set and they seal properly to the body side. It is odd that Fairchild only makes the t top weatherstrip for the body and no matching weatherstrip for the t top as well.
yea I did find that odd.. but since I can't get the oem gm side for passenger side, I'm going to get fairchild kit. and just use the passenger side and use the oem gm ttop side pieces
